Full Version: 2022 - Tonight's recipe

If I get my act together, tonight will be sausage meatballs in a roasted tomato and dried bean sauce/casserole. Sausagemeat left over from Xmas, roasted toms, beans, carrots and onions from last years harvest/store. Then again if I get carried away in the garden it might be something ready made from the freezer. Smile

I had a game bag delivery yesterday- lots of pheasant. Not my preferred meat. What is your sauce?

We're getting to that time of year when MrPP asks "What are we having for pumpkin tonight?"

Probably a roast pumpkin, chard and lentil lasagne tonight.

It ended up being roast veg - pumpkin, celeriac, parsnip, leeks, carrots, onion, garlic, spuds - with merguez sausages. Plus a roasted tray of spiced pumpkin as well.
So we're set up for Monday - pumpkin risotto, Tuesday - pasta with a leftover merguez (cooked five on Sunday, ate three), tomato and pumpkin sauce, Wednesday - leftover roast veg and chickpea stew! 
With increased energy prices pushing some food prices going up I'll have to keep a tighter handle on the housekeeping this year as our income will not be keeping pace.
Chorizo & rice with added leftover roasted chicken.
The other half of yesterday's bean/veg cottage pie this time with kale, French beans and gravy.

I'd never heard of them sausages before, but they sound delicious! I have saved a recipe to make them in case I ever get around to making my own sausages Smile
