Yesterday, an acquaintance (J) on the Freebie site offered an Easter egg as a giveaway. Lots of interest, as you can imagine, but I was not the randomly chosen lucky recipient. However, J messaged me and offered me a box of Dairy Milk chocolates instead. How could I refuse??
The collection took longer than usual however. First, I did a tour of their garden, met the husband, discussed leek growing, made a fuss of their dog that I've met several times before, then headed back to the car................then J spotted her next door but one neighbour chopping away at a dead looking bush. J tells the lady that I know about gardening and can help her!!! It was a Bottle Brush shrub, mostly dead with one living branch. I filled a dog poo bag (clean) with seeds though I suspect they were beyond hope - as was most of the bush.
Then along comes another neighbour with 2 dogs, so we had another chat and finally along comes "Ann with the wonky wall" and her dog. I haven't met so many people in a short space of time for a couple of years. They know me now as Carole Veggie. Big Grin

Finally, got away for my second IN of the day - a jar of Coffee, Onion Gravy granules, Flaxseed and some herbal tea bags. A motley assortment but it all helps to fill the Moneyless Chicken's store cupboard. Big Grin
Can't compete with Veggie, but I picked up a couple of reduced easter eggs yesterday. Smile
IN today - more OLIO bread - a Cheese Bloomer (that word always makes me laugh), 2 sliced loaves and a box of mixed pastries - cinnamon whirls, Custard things and a cheese squiggle (no idea what they're called).
Also collected a small bag to use when walking your dog - with pockets for treats and poo bags. Going to offer it to my brother as he put his carkeys in his pocket and lost them somewhere on his multimile dogwalk. Cost him over £200 just for a replacement car key - silly boy. Big Grin
I started the day with an integrated fridge (that had stopped cooling) with a microwave above it with a door that wasn't quite right. I've been meaning to call out an engineer to repair them but the callout charges would have been a big chunk of the cost to buy new ones. I've been making do with an old fridge that I had before the kitchen refit about 15 years ago.
Today, on the Free site, someone was gifting a 6 month old fridge and a freezer. Don't know why I haven't realised this before but, the built in gadgets, just slot into gaps in the kitchen units.
I'm ending the day with a nearly new fridge, a small microwave that used to be my Mum's and a spare freezer in the garage. The old fridge will move back into the garage where it was a jam cupboard and the freezer may move into the kitchen. I'll keep looking for a bigger free microwave (or may buy one if desperate).
The Council will be collecting the useless fridge and microwave in 2 weeks time ...........and I'm a happy little chicken. Big Grin

With all those scrummy bakery goods, how is it you aren't putting on huge amounts of weight??
Maybe I am.................and maybe I'm not. Big Grin
INs Yesterday were 4 loaves of sourdough bread - OUT went 2 loaves and the dog treat/poo carrying bag to my brother.
IN today came a loaf of sliced bread and some rolls, a kitchen step to help me reach the top cupboards, some Classical & operatic CDs and a big bag of toiletries and unopened gift sets.
OUT went 9 cardboard moving boxes that I had for the chicken house but I don't need that many and there was a desperate plea for boxes.
No excuse now not to get the Kenwood down. Smile
I'll find one. Wink
A strange assortment of INs today - 2 sliced loaves and a Tiger's Bloomer, 2 Iced buns, 2 cinnamon swirls, 2 sprinkly pink doughnuts, some cheese topped rolls and some Scotch buns, all from an OLIO collector and 4 bags of Haylage. I had no idea what it was but it sounded useful Big Grin
OUT went a bundle of bamboo canes to a needy gardener.
