Wheelbarrowed this lot and stacked it. Cool I should have enough logs, with the ones I already have, to see me into the new year now. With gas and electric prices set to go through the roof I may be glad of the woodburner! Rolleyes
Potted up winter lettuce.
Weeding couch grass out of the fruit bushes
Cut back one of the peach trees that was getting too big for its boots
Tidied GH3 to make room for somewhere to sow caulis - then sowed some.
Lots of plant juggling today. Emptied out some pots of stuff that had finished or not made it.
Emptied off one of my 4 hardening off benches. So I could get the barrow out that the bench was sat on. Rebuild bench put plants back on. While sorting noticed 3 stems on the penstemon had sort of looped stems that would sit very nicely in another pot of compost if sat next to them . So that’s what I did. Especially as they seemed to have the beginning of roots. Once I’d rescued the barrow I removed the deer proofing top, front and money box holder. After a look over it, not sure if it’s going to be fixable or condemned!
Made four small loaves. Two will go straight in the  freezer as-is and I have already had a munch at one (just because I love warm frehly baked bread with butter on.) I added a wee bit more salt to this batch and its improved the flavour. Cool
Retrieved my large plastic bags from the allotment yeaterday so I am off now to bag up my lawn grass cuttings before they kill the grass off! Cry
Cut down JA’s to 3ft, emptied a compost bin bagging up the good stuff for later then removed shading from my GH.
I need another shed as I am struggling to get into the door of the one I have. Cry I did fancy a metal shed but have decided to rummage through my wood pile for decent timber I had stashed, with the idea of knocking one up myself. Cool

I managed to fnd lots more spars that I had forgotten about and should have enough 3 x 2 to knock up a lean-to frame. A friend of mine at allotment has a load of lap fencing he needs to get rid off so I need to design shed frame to accomodate sizes he has.

All spars are now propped up against a fence to dry out a bit then I will get round to designing and assembling shed. Smile
Dehydrated some more apples the cooked and froze the bits. Weeded self set seeds re-homing the teasels.
Front hedge cutting, back path weeding, discovered a clump of dead sticky willy that had climbed up through an apple tree. It was impossible to clear it without getting covered in seeds - I'm still picking them off my clothes and combing them out of the dogs fur.
I have the irrational need to clear all the grass (mainly couch) out of the middle part of the garden. I'm raking the dead grass over and pulling it out at the roots, where possible. Then I pile the dead grass on top of a growing area to keep the ground damp until I work my way back to that area again, when I rake off the dead stuff and pull out whatever has germinated underneath it. Its strangely satisfying - far more than trying to mow the paths.
Dug out one old strawberry patch and replaced them with rooted runners. Today's job is to continue with the strawbs in the fruit cage.
