Started on my jobs about 9am then a glass pane I was moving decided to break and cut my finger. First badish cut I've had since being on warfarin so was paranoid for an hour or so but seems ok!
Anyway excuses started for my 10 jobs a week list next week
I shifted some more concrete today, some at lunch time and some after work until it went dark. I'm definitely focussing on moving that stuff first, saving some to fill in the pond, but most of it will have to go to the nearest council tip that accept the stuff. Our local tip doesn't accept it
I've cleared a fair bit, and I'm hoping I will be able to shift a bit more tomorrow, to allow me to empty the massive ugly container that's at the back of the garden. That will be lovely to be rid of, so that's the two top tasks on my list now - clear concrete and empty/get rid of the fibreglass container.

Yesterday I went for a box/core workout. I can see a massive improvement to my core strength after attending quite regualrily. I can even keep up with and sometimes surpass some of the younguns with the floor excercises.
I now have a new yoga mat, new indoor trainers and small rucksack which are getting used regularily.
Because of worn out knees, jogging, which was my favourite is out of the question but with walking Kato so much and attending fitness clases five days out of seven I feel as fit as a butchers dog!
Looking forward to when things warm up a bit and I can get some of the outdoor jobs done in the garden.
I had a day off today and had such good intentions - lots of housework and gardening to be done. Alas, feeling a bit rough and worn out (I worked around 50 hours Monday to Thursday) so I got up late, did some washing up, tried (and failed) to make my oven work (new oven thermometer also broken, so it took a while to work out what was going on...), had some food, then had a four hour sofa nap! Whoops.
However, tomorrow I have a friend coming over for a catch-up. She's being extra cautious as she's a carer for a relative, so we'll probably sit outside. Then she's going to have a look at my electrics (she's an electrician) so I can get an idea of how much needs doing. After that, my brother is coming over and taking me on a compost buying trip so that I can get some beds started.
At the moment, B&Q is looking like the best bet (£10.40 for 100L peat-free compost) but my brother keeps trying to suggest places that may be cheaper. So far, Homebase looks like being £12 per 100L (on a buy 3x 50L bags for £18 offer) and Wilko's peat-free compost would also come to £12 per 100L but in 25L bags so more plastic per litre than the first two options.
I don't think any of the supermarkets have it in stock yet. Anyone know of any other good options? I looked into bulk delivery but the cost is not that different when you factor in the delivery fee (there is the benefit of there being less plastic if it comes in a single huge bag, but it would also be a massive amount of work trying to shift it from the driveway to the garden). I definitely only want peat-free which rules out a lot of the cheapest options.
I've not got anything done today, it's just how my Fridays are. However, tomorrow I have all day planned in the garden, as there's a lot of concrete to shift. I need to figure out the way to the nearest tip that accepts it, and I'll take some, put some in the bin and some in my lovely shopkeeper across the road's big bin (with his permission).
I'm hoping to completely avoid the trip into Grimsby tomorrow for Jay's new car and various shopping requirements. Hoping
Yesterday - turned the compost heaps, one dalek of stuff about ready to use, but at the very bottom of heap 3 (now the top of heap 2) was all the debris from thining the pond, and the lumps of water lily were sprouting!
Sorted out the heated prop, moving the germinated aubergines into a heated prop next to the window. The main one is in the utility where it's a bit gloomy.

Home Bargains didn't have any compost in when I last went a few weeks ago, but last year they were selling peat free for £2.50 (can't remember if it was 40 or 50 L).
The study computer (P's) wouldn't start up this morning! I'm off outside to avoid the fallout
I might even get some of my 7 jobs done, that'll be novel.
