That's why I like yellow sticker shopping - you never know what will be on offer but there's always some way to use it - even if its not in a recipe book.
Lovely blue-sky day to day - went out for some freebie books and a wi-fi keyboard and mouse and back via Morries for some yellow sticker food. Mostly meaty stuff today which the dogs will enjoy but I did buy a 12.5kg bag of Wonky potatoes for £1.60. They're Orchestra, grown in Nottinghamshire. I wonder what a Wonky Orchestra would sound like??? Big Grin
Evening everyone
I’ve spent most of the day butchering a whole venison carcass. Off out for pizza & a beer now.

I once got my hands on a whole venison carcass which had got its legs caught in between the two top wires of a fence and must have thrashed until it had a heart attack, It wa still warm when I found it so carried it back home and rang my old boss who was a gamekeeper to give me a hand in butchering it. We hung it up in the garage and he instructed me and helped to butcher it. The only thing he asked for in recompense was some venison liver. It wasn't until I tasted venison liver that I realised why he eappreciated it so much. Cool
I did get him a bottle of expensive whisky as well though for his troubles. Smile
All the venison we get are gralloched instantly on the hill, when they are shot. So we don’t get any of the offal unfortunately.
"gralloch" ..........had to ask the Duckduck what it meant - wish I hadn't!!
^^ me too. Not too keen on eviscerating, the smell gets to me.

I just asked MrB he's got a friend who used to shoot and kept us in Pheasants during the season, he's since took up fishing.

It was a bit stinky, but worth it for the liver methinks! Cool
Afternoon all

Just completed a 48 hour fast and unfortunately it's finished on Meatless Monday when I could just fancy a 16 oz steak! Rolleyes

I bought a new bag of lentils yesterday as gawd knows how long I have had the others in a storage jar (Imagine they would last for hundreds of years?) Anyway tiped the old lentils into a pan with some brothe mix and yellow split peas and put them on to boil for a while last night. This morning I added an onion, two carrots and two sticks of celery. Helen used to hate celery and I love it so it was a bit of a novelty to add it.

After waklking Kato this morning, booking my third jab for next Wednesday and putting in my monthly pescription, I put the broth mix on to boil again.I filled my Woc with stir fry veg and some egg noodles I picked up on the reduced isle for 20p and had two large bowls of soup and then my stir fry. That will do me until tomorrow and I must say I am stuffed to the gunnards! (Whatever the hell they are)Smile

Chilling for a while then deciding what else to do. Probably summat inside as it looks dreary outdoors now. Sick
