It is peat. I wasn’t joking when I said we’re building on a peat bog 

Think of all the John Innes potting compost you could make with that!

An odd day. I’ve packed my first box of stuff from the dining room. Took the legs off the dining table and stacked the chairs. To make space for new things we’re collecting later this week. The last entertaining has been done in this house. Feels a bit weird.
