We might have got 2mm overnight not enough to even wet the baby's forehead. I'll probably be watering again at this rate. ATM it's dry, still and a little sun breaking through the white cloud and 19°C
Should have read this first!! ... Smile

...it wasn't huge amounts but more than we have had in months here.

Not a lot of water in the butt's unfortunately, I'm crossing my fingers for more in the week.  At least Wessex Water don't have a hosepipe ban, nor any plans for one.
I'm on a meter so even without a hose pipe ban I don't generally use it other than to water in new seedlings.  I have watered the dahlias about 4 times since planted up because I would have lost them other wise.

Water meter here too but I think 'what the hell', I'm not about to lose all my hard work and our soil drains so quickly you can see it drinking up any amount of water.

My garden is a big big to think what the hell... so I find if I mulch early on it really helps.

I have new trees ( well in 3 years) they come first.
Hold on a minute..... it's raining! Smile

Yes for me too... just had to run and get my cut flowers in. It's forecast for most of the week.
We're in the middle of a tropical downpour with thunder and lightning at this very moment!
Not sure which way its moving but, ifs eastward you'd both better get your washing in. Big Grin
Washing? What's that?
Lots of overnight rain here with more due later this evening.
Lots of thunder and sheet lightning but not too much rain
Great big dollops of rain last night and this morning all the butts are full (I think) I've only checked the 40 gallon one fed from the house roof which has gone from all but empty to full to brim overnight, the others are fed from gh and sheds so not quite as good at collecting. More showers forecast this morning, so some water management plans are afoot to replenish the pond .
Some overnight rain again then today its been t-shirt weather with a few spots of rain.
