Hot! Weather station says 40 so it must be 36 or 37. Emptied the waterbutts again in preparation for today, it's much more mangeable when it's just one day.

Its raining - not a lot. Just enough to put a dampener on gardening. ;D

We were promised heavy thunder storms, in reality there was rain to the east and off to the west with a distinct dry corridor vertically through Salisbury. We might have got 2mm overnight not enough to even wet the baby's forehead. I'll probably be watering again at this rate. ATM it's dry, still and a little sun breaking through the white cloud and 19°C

We had rain last night!!! Did you?

OMG the first bit of rain that actually did look like it wet the ground.
It was supposed to come yesterday but we had some over night not in the day....not full water butts but there's some in there.

Not a lot of water in the butt's unfortunately, I'm crossing my fingers for more in the week. At least Wessex Water don't have a hosepipe ban, nor any plans for one.

I'm on a meter so even without a hose pipe ban I don't generally use it other than to water in new seedlings.  I have watered the dahlias about 4 times since planted up because I would have lost them other wise.
