Can I store lifted beets in spent compost?

I want to be ready for when we run the I-SPY in the garden game again next year  - by sowing more seeds for each letter of the alphabet.

First up for the As are Aquilegia, Antirrhinum and Aquadulce Broad beans.

Sorry, I know it's well off topic.....but I'm finally getting a kitchen!!! A big one  OMG - I have waited 20 years for this.
I think my husband has been fed up with the "if anyone needs a new kitchen it has to be Scarlet" comments.

My plans ran out but they are alive again - just waiting on the builders quotes. We've decided on a smaller build due to costs but I'm still happy.

I've been trying to draw mine out on paper, but this isn't working. I've a couple of vulnerable peeps at home so I don't want to go trawling the shops looking for inspiration. But this is my one and only chance of getting the kitchen that I want - my OH is already saying "you can add those cabinets later" that will never happen. I want it done as one project. 
I finally get a kitchen that has a big fridge!! I have spent the last 20 years going outside to the fridge in the shed to get stuff while cooking- no fun in the rain.

Anyway - any free apps out there where I can just plot in the measurements and move boxes around?

I was innocently browsing the internet when I must have stumbled across a time warp page. As a result I have just lost 2 hours, reading the wonderfully worded pages of this website. If, like me, you cannot resist cheap little plants (whether at the budget grocery store or the garden centre bargain table), you may be interested to know that Aldi has plants in at the moment.

Fruits: Summer and autumn raspberries (Autumn bliss, but can't remember the summer), blackberry, redcurrant, gojiberry, tayberry, loganberry, green and red gooseberries, and probably a few more.

Euonymus, clematis, calla lilies, and several other varieties.

I have grown six  Habanero chilli plants which are now ripening. The problem is that the fruits are only the size of a large pea? I have kept them watered and gave them a feed once a fortnight. The plants look healthy but the fruits are tiny.

Any idea of what I have done wrong SC?

I'm in the market for some new anti-insect mesh to protect my alliums from the leaf miner and brassicas from flea beetle and as my hoops made from left over rebar aren't really big enough I though I'd invest in some supports too. But why is everything round, meaning that the outside edges can't be easily used?
Does anybody make/sell rectangular frames to support mesh or plastic? I can't find anything on the French market, beyond modular solid plastic cloches.
I may have to set MrPP a task, although he still hasn't made the bench from the tree my neighbour cut down three years ago ...

Interesting research project to identify apple varieties from their leaves - but more leaves are needed. 
Wish I lived nearer - I have lots of unidentified apples.

Just having a wander round the garden today and noticed this cherry tree trunk...is the tree dying? The leaves seem healthy enough though.

   

Afternoon folks

Earlier in the year I sowed asparagus and rhubarb from seed and both seem to be doing well.

The question I have is should I leave them in their pots until next year or plant out in beds now?
