Infuriating Objects

What everyday objects do you find annoying? The ones that always cause a problem?

I have two in particular,

1. Sellotape. I always lose the end of it and have to turn the roll around several times, running my nail along it, trying to find that tiny difference in thickness where the Sellotape starts. or is it ends? I actually dread using Sellotape and its big ugly sister, masking tape.

2. Clothes hangers. They always seem to get caught up with another hanger in the wardrobe and garments fall off onto the floor.

  Which Tomato Am I
Posted by: PyreneesPlot - 08-08-2022, 03:39 PM - Replies (1)

As you probably know I've been growing some seed collections this year; when I ordered them I hadn't realised that the seeds would be mixed in together so I have 10 tomato plants now fruiting from a possible 26 varieties. It's time to play What Tomato Am I?!

This is your selection -

Imur Prior Beta round red, acidic
Wolly Green Zebra round green stripes
White Bush white/yellow flattened round
Pastel Sleeves pale pink or yellow blushed plum
Black Roma small elongated plum, dark red/black
Black Shadow round very dark, perhaps striped
Moravsky Div round red potato leaved
Gregori Altai pale red flat round beef
Skyreacher large round, pale red
Coeur de pigeon thumb sized red plum
Russian Persimon large orange beef
Banana Legs elongated yellow plum
Rose de Berne large pink beef
Washingon Cherry round red determinate
Farenheit Blues dark blue black, round
Rancho Solito pale red round with nipple
Podland Pink pale washed out pink plum
Raisin Vert pale green/yellow, round, slightly oval
Abracazebra large round green
Bigarée Isis Candy round, pinkish red cherry
Luckhenbach Zebra pale red, striped
Poire Jaune yellow pear
Saucy Green stripy green plum
Black Centiflor Hypertress small round very dark red/black
Prize of the Trials orange red egg
White Queen white beef

And the photos

3/2 is cut because the difference between flesh (orange) & skin (red) is very distinctive.
3/2 & 3/4 have really nice acidity levels.
Have fun Smile

  British Gas Fixed Tariff?
Posted by: Vinny - 03-08-2022, 11:35 AM - Replies (8)

I have just had an offer off British gas to fix my tariff for both gas and electricity?

Now maybe I am missing something but I was wondering whether they were for real? Cry

If I do nothing my estimated costs based on last years usage are:- Gas=£366.88 per annum & Electricity = £1013.96

Fixing my price would be:-...........................................................Gas=£633.61 per annum & Electricity = £1733.00

Its a no brainer for me! Rolleyes

The only way I would benefit from fixed price would be if they were contemplating doubling the cost of both in which case I would ask them to cut off supply completely and go back  to candles and wood burner for heating and lighting.A weekly bath/shower at my daughters would suffice at a push?

Needless to say I am NOT fixing the price and will wait and see outcome! Big Grin

Had a dream the other night, was wandering around a supermarket searching for yellow sticker items.

After that at the fish counter looking a 2 salmon.

Obviously related to recent threads, what a marvelous thing the brain is!

I’m just wondering how many of our members subscribe to SM like Facebook & Instagram, and if they share their accounts.

I do Instagram but it’s a private account you have to request access from me. I don’t do Facebook I think it’s to intrusive and I see my wife on it night and day.

If anyone is interested in my Instagram account you can find me with the user name Caniceh

If you are going to request to follow me please post on this thread and let me know what your user name is so I can approve you, or private message me if you prefer.
I know I have 1 or 2 followers from here already.

  Recommendation please

Hi folks

I'm after your thoughts on a compact / bush tomato to grow in a .5 x 1.5 metre area? No support needed and was thinking I could fit 6 to 8 in? Will be covered with plastic to generate heat.

TIA

  Growing Festive veggies - Challenge.
Posted by: Veggie - 28-07-2022, 10:57 PM - Replies (20)

Just had a totally daft idea (for a change).
I'm wondering if it possible to grow enough veggies for The festive season (can't say the C word in July) in pots in the GH.
A pot of spuds, beans, peas, carrots maybe even sprouts or a red cabbage.
If I start them outdoors in pots and move them into the GH when the weather turns into winter it may be possible, maybe.
Whatever I find in my pots will be my Festive meal. Big Grin
