We talk about propagating plants from seed but rarely about taking cuttings. 
There are several ways to take cuttings - from stems, tips, roots or propagate by division.

Please share your methods and let's all grow more free plants.

Just ordered some Stevia seeds to try and grow my own sugar substitute.

Anyone tried growing it and any tips?

Anyone growing avocados from shop brought?
Someone gave me a couple last year that they had germinated. Apparently it was there lockdown hobby   .
I repotted them a few weeks ago. As they seemed to of survived the winter in the polytunnel. They really didn’t like it! The leaves all drooped, when brown & crispy! But now they have new growth coming all over the place. I’ll take photos later.
Any advice on how to care for them? I should probably put a little more effort into looking after them as they’re trying so hard to live. Also I quite like the challenge of growing things slightly exotic / none native up here in the frozen north     .

I've never bothered with insulating the gh over winter in the past, and I'm not altogether sure I will in the future, but wondered if anyone else does.

In the recent cold spring nights, like everyone else, I've been covering the staging and ground level plants with fleece and as I had some fat 1" bubble leftover packaging I used this as insulation against the glass where I had tenders.  I was wondering whether to invest in some proper bubblewrap insulation and if so which size bubbles are best, big or small.  To be any benefit does the whole area of glass (roof and walls) need doing?  I have no doubt there are calculations of heat coefficients etc, but I'll go with gut feelings in the end
Any ideas or thoughts?

Morning Folks

After starting off well my leeks don't seem to have gained any size in about a month, shall I transplant them into a RB and see how they get on?

   

I think I have whitefly in the greenhouse not something I have experienced before, although looking at the RHS picture the little white critters on my plants do not have distinguishable wings, like their picture, in fact mine are so small I can't identify them as creatures with legs or wings with the naked eye.  Query, what to do about them?

Someone asked on my local fb garden group. We might a couple more to join if we can answer first     .

I really like these beehive mounds - would be great for wildlife habitat.

I know I skip from one thing to another but this 
year the daffs were fab....I don't really have much of a spring garden. I love tulips but over the years have planted hundreds and they rarely return. Daffs are different.

This bank holiday weather and the disappearance of spring here has got me thinking about water storage. I have a 200litre water butt collecting from the garage and am considering adding more butts to that setup. I am also thinking about adding gutters and a butt to the shed near the veg patch. 
From your experiences how much storage capacity do you need for your gardens, do you wish you had more? Thanks.
