While out walking in the mist this afternoon, about 100 lapwings took off from a field. At first I thought they were pigeons but then I realised that in flight they were nothing like and the noise was completely different, a bit like a low rumble.
The fatball feeders are magnets for the long tailed tits at the moment. I watched a little bluetit trying to push his way through their tails to get to the food but he couldn't. The long tails seemed to be arranged like a palisade to keep out intruders.
Seen a few yellow wagtails wagging their way around the pond too and the jays are here hoovering up the acorns.
About 10mins ago a Blackbird flew into the window, he soon jumped up landed on the GH briefly then he was off again.
We've got couple of Greenfinches enjoying the Teasels.

Edited to say it was Goldfinches but apparently my kindle didn't like that word.
Really pleased to see a little goldcrest having a bath in the waterfall yesterday, last time we saw one was 2017. Also saw a red kite soaring over the front fields this morning.
Spent sometime today watching a couple of Bullfinches command the feeders until the Goldfinches turned up in numbers
This guy’s been knocking around for the last few weeks, he seems to be eating the scraps falling from the bird feeders in the apple tree.

I was momentarily very excited as greenfinch are red listed and in real danger across Europe Sad
Goldfinch are lovely, though!
We have had a Hawfinch visiting the feeder. Tried to get a pic but it is too timid and the slightest movement and away it flies
