We get plenty of those with trains, helicopters, aircraft revving up on the ground, explosions etc being near 2 military establishments and the railway. This was similar to machinery or garden equipment but not quite and it sounded quite near. Got of the ground (with difficulty) and looked around and saw, under the shade of the copper beech a swarm of bees. I was thinking of shutting myself in the shed out of the way but they slowly moved on to be someone else's problem/benefit. Only ever once in the past 40 years seen a swarm - I hid in the gh then Smile I think I'm a wuss.
It works on both threads    Wink  Cool . I’ve only seen a swarm once. Fascinating to watch.
I thought I was quick enough deleting the other one! You caught me  Rolleyes
No, you were quick enough to delete it. But I have mod powers to still see it  Wink  Big Grin .

That's cheating  Tongue
So good JJB said it twice. Big Grin
I'm a cheat and I saw it too.
Spotted a Gull mobbing a Buzzard over our house this afternoon.
Just had a baby robin come into the house.
Safely back outside now.
We have a random 2x2 4ft pole in the flower bed visible fron the bedroom window, the reason why is long forgotten but the eyesore remains because robin thinks it's his perch. This morning there were two spotted woodpeckers clinging to the sides of this pole, a youngster being fed by an adult. Definitely an aahhh moment.
Spent some time today watching the wrens in the back hedge/brambles, flitting from branch to branch or scuttling through the undergrowth. They always make me smile with their cheeky little tails.
Had a heron do a fly by this afternoon. Not exactly an uncommon sight. Attempting to photograph it is much more unusual. Here’s a dreadful picture to show why , I don’t usually bother.

It was about 10.15 last night when the bats made an appearance. I know because I was sitting on the decking with Kato as it was too hot indoors. I can hear them before I see them so my hearing must be ok! Rolleyes

I've also spotted Red Kites circling high up at times. Cool
Today I saw a Hummingbird Hawk moth for the first time this year.
