Head of cabbage and that dreaded turnip.
Potatoes.
but, I hear you mutter, you didn't plant any spuds this year, and you'd be right, I didn't.
Last year, I planted some spuds in the old chicken run and they did nothing worthwhile. There was a crop, of sorts, riddled with holes, and all unusable. This year, a few stray spud plants appeared, which I ignored as the chooks were using the run to play in. Today, I spotted something white, glowing in the soil where the chooks had been digging - a spud - and a huge spud by my low standards (6oz).
In total, I dug up nearly 3lbs of spuds, no damage and skins so soft they rub off in your hands.
I could have put this on the Happy thread but I didn't want to bore you.
