Ok, I'm going to try to log everything I do - see how each flower grows and whether it's worth cutting.
I've started a FB page for the same but it's good to have it in a couple of places!

This week I've planted up some of by the ranunculas in my old greenhouse borders. I wrapped with fleece last night and the night before but they are already getting hammered with mice.

I caught 3 last night
2 the night before
Just seen one diving for cover when he saw me!
Seed sowing - some started a little early as I'm hoping that by the time they germinate they can go on the heatmat in the greenhouse with enough daylight. Some need cold stratification.

7th January
Bells of Ireland - in the fridge
Party Girl - in the fridge
FEWs - Linaria Violet - in the prop
FEWs- strawflower - in the prop
Ranunculas - planted up in the old greenhouse border. Taking a hammering off the mice already.

Maybe planted one row too deep?
Planted 9inches apart
These were started off in October

I need to add some support netting. I'm hoping to do that next week
Scabious -
I started some off late November - black Knight and white. The mice ate lots....but I have about 5 black and more than a dozen white still going. These are usually best started in September.

Today I've single sown more in seed cells.
24 x Fata Morgana - an apricot variety
24 x salmon Queen - a pink!

Just made room in the heated prop on the windowsill in the living room.
Moved out Fews straw flowers from the prop - lots germinated already.
Sowed Achillea Ballerina - in the prop.
Checked the prop - out came the salmon queen scabious- more than half have already popped. They couldn't go on my heat mat as I've not got it working yet.

Potted on about 24 snow maiden scabious. These were started November time? They've germinated in a cold greenhouse.

Potted up loads of purple/white saved sweet pea seeds. These were prespouted on kitchen roll.
I have a few other colours to do - except all
my compost was frozen. I've a bag in the kitchen warming through for tomorrow.
This thread is really encouraging me to think I could at least grow enough flowers for one vase a week! Thank you Smile

Ooh! Would be lovely for you to join me Smile would be lovely to see what flower you choose to grow too!
Apart from the dahlias I already have, I suspect the rest will have more than a hint of the packets for under a € from Lidl feel to them!
