Grows to 6', suitable for back of border - mine's under an apple tree in the middle of the garden. Smile Should be interesting.

I think this is an Inula - maybe Hookeri - though I call it the scruffy plant - its spreading like crazy at the far end of the garden - back of border, plenty of headroom - nothing like the leaf size of this beast.
Did you give me seeds for that? I have Telekia speciosa- I think from you.

Telekia speciosa sounds familiar but I don't think I've shared seeds from the "scruffy plant". I may have had Telekia seeds from Cottage Garden Society and sent you some?
How to tell your Telekia from your Inula?...................... http://alienplantsbelgium.be/content/telekia-speciosa
Wish I had an ology.Smile

Maybe, I can't remember- just that I thought it was very unusual but it didn't like my dry border so I've since dug it up and stuck it in a large pot....waiting to find a space for it because I think it's fab!

I've just rummaged in my T flower seeds and found some Telekia from Cottage Garden but............the packet is still sealed!! No Inula seeds.
Maybe I acquired the plant from somewhere!

Well mine definitely came from you - but I don't remember how they were packaged. It was a few years ago. I think they are worth sowing. So unusual.

All I know so far is - its too tall for me to reach and is getting lost in the apple tree. There's a hint of yellow in the buds.
The 3rd photo is another stem.
Can't be long before it opens, can it?  Huh

This is another N/K tall plant. IIRC it also had yellow flowers last year. This one's only about 4' high

Getting there! Sorry the photos are so vague but the flowers are above my head in the apple tree! I can't get near it because its underplanted with day lilies.
Should be impressive when all the flowers bloom and I hope the 2nd stem stays short!
