Not raining at the moment but I really hope the big grey clouds heading this way miss us.
Anyone know how to grow rice?
Gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes.

4.5 kilos from 4 seed potatoes that haven’t been watered much. I will be interested to see what the crop is like from those that have had irrigation hoses round them and have been watered regularly. We have had no appreciable rain for weeks!!!

Early birthday presents of hunter clogs and beer ready for our motor home trip today and it's not even 9am. I hope the rest of the day is as good.

No sign of Mole activity on the plot this morning. Three times I have had to replant some of the leeks so stuffed à but of tissue with Spearmint oil on it down the runs and for the moment that has seemed to keep them away. YIPEEEEEEEE

I planted up all my hanging baskets today. I know, better late than never, right?
The big baskets got both geraniums, begonias and cherry tomato plants. The smaller one just two out of three.
The plants are all quite well established already so I expect full showy floweriness very quickly lol

I'm on annual leave. I have a huge amount of admin to attend to, and want to properly tidy my house, start packing (though still nowhere to move to), sort out the garden, etc. In other words, just get caught up with all the things I've been fretting about for the past few months. It doesn't sound very annual leavey but it will be a weight off my mind to get it all done. And there should be some time to do some nice things too.
Formerly self-contained, but expanding my gardening horizons beyond pots!
