Just picked and tried the first Mat-su express tomato. It’s a very nice tomato. Will definitely grow again.

Glad you liked it! The first year I grew it, the taste was exceptional. Very early for a beefsteak, too. If its fruits were more consistent in size it would be a perfect variety.

Now you mention it, there is a bit of variation in size. I don’t really mind that. It’s very tasty and seems to have good numbers for a beefsteak. Thank you for recommending it.

Picked my First EVER Mulberry from a tree that was planted about 15 years ago!
To be honest, I thought I'd been sold a dud and had been consoling myself with the fact that it was an interestingly shaped tree.
Before you ask, I did pick it and, although it was obviously underripe I took a bite. Not for long! It was very sour. There are a few more berries near the top of the tree, which are a better Mulberry colour but they'll have to wait until I have something to pull the branches down.
Mrs Mulberry is a mother at last.

My first CFBs - mostly District Nurse, aka Grace's sister.. They'd grown so tall that I couldn't reach them at the top of the canes. I had to cut the top off the cane, to lower them enough to pick!

Picked the first two sweetcorn for yesterday's dinner. They're a bit later than last year probably due to the fact the got transplanted later too. I must say I really like home grown sweetcorn, it's like carrots and tomatoes, nothing commercial quite matches them for taste.
