2023 - Tonight's recipe

Sunday dinner of roast pork, swede,brussel sprouts, sweetheat cabbage and carrots with gravy.

Even Kato enjoyed his small portion!

Finishing off last night’s duck. No idea how or what with yet.

I always make too many veg for for one person for Sunday dinner. If I have swede I use a whole one and likewise with cabbage. Consequently I had quite a bit of cooked veg left for this meatless Monday. I decided to make this recipe:-

 Mine looked just like the piccie. I got to use a cup measure which I found at the back of a drawer for the first time and finished off a jar of Tomato,sultana & ginger chutney I made in 2020!
I suppose it was ok, if a bit bland and when the frtters are stacked on  top of each other with an egg on top, when eaten they just resemble Pan haggerty without the meat.
If I made it again, which I probably will, I think I would spice it up a bit with chilli, curry or Harissa or suchlike?

Lunch was raspberry sponge pudding with custard. Yum.

Then this evening hotdogs eaten with pasta, mushrooms, bacon some Stilton melted and stirred in.

Monday is often odd soup day as I use up leftovers, so today we have one based around leftover smoked cod chowder, roast pumpkin, a bit of spicy cabbage and carrot curry and the liquid from my first go at cheese making. I used lemon to split the curds & whey so the liquid is quite lemony!

We’re going out tonight.
Got twenty four quid’s worth of Tesco Club Card vouchers to spend in a Chef and Brewer. They expire today so it’s use them tonight or lose them.
Can’t imagine twenty four quid goes very far these days. Hopefully it’ll cover fish and chips for me and trademark!

I have hibiscus flowers and make the tea but it's farly bland to be honest and I only make it because of the intense red colouring!  Parrot tea? Nah, not for me thankyou!
