Definitely not a free day for us today - a friend got in touch saying her husband has landed a great new job We went to a restaurant in the next village and I was mighty impressed with the food. We had chicken strips with sesame and chilli dip on sweet potato puree for starters, various proper italian pizzas and then various delightful puddings. Yum

Bit of a dilemma for me today being Fishy Friday. I have some smoked cod but also have beef stew bubbling away in the slow cooker and a rack of pork ribs I cooked last night with a view to adding BBQ sauce and browning off in oven.
I will be having the smoked cod, probably with chips but won't be able to resist a bowl full of stew at some point in the day.
The pork ribs will be ok to flavour and finish cooking for tomorrows meal.
Note to self, I must get more organised with buying and cooking stuff!

B. Sourdough bread and blackcurrant jam
L. Carrot & parsnip soup (free tin)
Lemon & poppy seed muffin
D 3 Quorn sausages (about £2.50 for 8), potato & carrot mash with onion gravy.
Cost about 90p for sausages - expensive day!

Pork fillet and kale in a creamy garlic cheese sauce with rice, broccoli and mangetout.
First time Jay's ever eat anything like that, and he liked it!
