A very nice home made chicken Balti with some unique differences like marble sized potatoes, extra chillies and pineapple pieces with rice and nan. All my own veg in the curry.

Cod fillet with stir fry. I have fried courgettes with most meals these days as I struggle to keep on top of the glut. Freshly harvested garlic will also play a big part in the meal.

Mixed grill - sausages, rashers, black pudding, white pudding (a bit like haggis but milder and less grain), spice burgers, fried mushrooms and hash browns with brown buttermilk soda bread.

I'm on holiday in Crete at the moment, and the hotels does proper home cooked, Cretan food. We always start every meal with cucumbers and tomatoes with tzatziki and bread, and last night I had the best moussaka I have ever had. Fresh sardines, pork chops in mint and mushrooms, with creamy polenta and a yellow split pea puree that is lovely. I will try to recreate all of this when I get home
Tonight's dinner is a surprise
