The only thing works for me is a net all round to keep pigeons and rabbits out.

I net and use a few organic slug pellets one year I planted a spare kale in a bucket it lasted 2 days before it was stripped to a stalk. Never again.

Blue pellets of death for slitherers. Netting for everything else. If it was allowed I would use an air gun for anything with legs or wings.....at least that would be target specific.

Netting over the kale. And since that stops the frog and the blackbirds getting at the slugs, I sprinkle a few pellets under the netting if there seem to be lots of slugs - I have those tiny black ones that are so hard to see in the soil. The dry weather seems to be keeping numbers down though. elsewhere in the garden I leave predators and pests to get on with it.
