How do you protect your plants from pests I came across a reference about a homemade garlic spray has anyone tried making a garlic spray and if so how good is it and what does it protect your brassicas from
The only thing works for me is a net all round to keep pigeons and rabbits out.
Thanks Can the Man but how do you control the slugs and snails
Nematodes for slimy ones. Net for everything else.

Curly as they are netted off I sprinkle slug pellets around them, no birds or animals can get in at them. Not so many now with the warm dry weather.
I net and use a few organic slug pellets one year I planted a spare kale in a bucket it lasted 2 days before it was stripped to a stalk. Never again.
Blue pellets of death for slitherers. Netting for everything else. If it was allowed I would use an air gun for anything with legs or wings.....at least that would be target specific.
My apologies in advance. Blush
Every time I read the title of this thread, its "Protection of your brassiere".
Sorry, I'll get my coat................and the rest of my underwear.  Big Grin
Netting over the kale. And since that stops the frog and the blackbirds getting at the slugs, I sprinkle a few pellets under the netting if there seem to be lots of slugs - I have those tiny black ones that are so hard to see in the soil. The dry weather seems to be keeping numbers down though. elsewhere in the garden I leave predators and pests to get on with it. Wink
I got my frame built today ( about time ). I covered it with net.
I’ll get mor net for next year so I can do the other end of the bed as well.
