Cooking & Eating Edamame

Today I harvested my first ever edamame and then went off to look at how to cook and preserve them, especially as the whole row was ready at the same time!
From a bit of research it looks as though I can freeze them raw in the pods and then cook from frozen but I'd love a bit of feedback from other edamame growers, particularly as I only have a three drawer freezer.

HI PP, If you look in, can you let me know what you did with the Edamame beans, as I'm about to try to grow some!
Hope you're keeping well. We miss you.

I grew some from a freebie pkt of magazine seeds a few years ago. They grew like DFB. Not hugely productive though. I believe they have to be cooked before consuming.  I podded, boiled & either ate hot as a side veg or cooled them for a vinaigrette. I think the plants like the warm.

These days I buy them shelled and frozen from the supermarket.

They just appear to be mini broadies to me? I prefer broadies with the outer shell left on! Even though I don't usually eat veg I do like the odd bowl of fresh broadies with loads of vinegar. Rolleyes
