I've got 3 Orangeto toms in fairly big pots
They're designated semi-determinate and benefits from slight support. So I plonked them in the big pots with a bit of support and left them alone. As you can see they've sprawled well and are contuing to do so. I think I'll have to put a central cane with a wigwam of string to support the outlying branches.
The question is what should I have done with a semi-determinate plant by way of pruning. The Web is rather confusing.

Mark Pelican (remember him from the dark side?) says:-
Semi-Determinate: Allow all the sideshoots on the main vine to grow (secondary vines) but remove all sideshoots on the secondary vines. Each vine will set a small number of trusses (two or three) and , like Indeterminate cultivars, the fruit will ripen gradually over the season and will have to be removed before the first frost kills the plant. https://myvegpatch.co.uk/tomatoes-determ...arvesting/
Have fun with that!! Great looking plants though.
The Moneyless Chicken says:-
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

No, dont remember Mark Pelican, although I wasn't very active on there.
Maybe it's a bit too late for those instructions but I might have a go at thinning them out. Should've asked earlier.
PS thanks for the link.

Before
After
All three have been pruned and fitted with the equivalent of an M&S full support bra and as a mature, rather buxom, woman I can attest to the feeling of security adequate support affords.

If these Orangeto toms are as nice as the seed companies say, I will grow them again and hopefully remember to prune and support them properly.

I'm not pruning my Orangeto, it can sprawl as much as it wants. Nowadays I grow all of my bush tomatoes on top of a table, so they can sprawl wherever without touching the ground.

Thank you. Yours will probably outproduce mine just to teach me a lesson.
