What variety is it Danny?, I like to sieve pure horse as there’s always a lot of nettle root ribbons in it. That looks quite woody though so is it a commercial or council mix?
A pocket knife is not a weapon in the right hands it’s an essential garden tool.

From a farm down the road Mikey, horse. My take was I'd get it from where all the locals were getting itSmile

I filled my allotment raised beds with about 9 year old horse manure a few years ago now. Spent most of my time plucking out little nettles in the first year, really wished I’d sifted it. I always sift now it doesn’t stop the nettles, but it greatly reduces them.

If I left it covered for a year before adding to beds it would probably been ok but, who has time for that!!! Smile

My plan was to fill the beds then cover most with membrane until spring, hopefully that should keep a lot back?

Sun was forecast for today and rain from tomorrow for the week, so I took today off work and did a lot of weeding in the garden, around potatoes, peas and brassicas. My knees and back ache.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

Shopped. Froze down masses of beans. Grumped at TV licencing, couldn't get hold of anybody to rant at, grumped at BT. Then a little bit of rain but not enough. En balance I think frustration won over satisfaction. Some days you get that.

After house work. Lots of watering, weeding and smelling the lovely lilies that have finally opened.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

Worked from home office again, went to collect manual for my new car, collect my monthly prescription, and do the shopping. My son and granddaughter (nearly 3) called up to see us and we played with the pedal tractor, swings, slide, then she got out her tea set and made tea for us all except her she wanted ice cream and she knew where nanny keeps it in the freezer, whereas I was brought to the poly tunnel to get her carrots.
