Nice easy one to try
You divide a number by 3, add 6, then subtract 7. The result is 4. What is the number?

Can't see the pattern in that string of numbers. I came across this random problem on youtube.
Veggie and JJB take 2 hours to tidy up and make the flower bed.
Veggie and The Boss take 3 hours.
JJB and the Boss take 4 hours.
How long would it take Veggie, JJB and The Boss to tidy up and make the Bed.

I think this is a trick question Mark. If it was just mathematical rather than work/time related we could say 4.5, but as many hands make light work the time to complete the job should be less.
My answer is it would take all day because Veggie and JJB would talk so much nothing would get done, alternatively 2hrs because The Boss would get fed up with all the hilarity and silliness and go down the pub, so it would be back to V+ J= 2hrs (sorry boss)

It isn't a trick question and is mathematical. You have to formulate the right equations. The obvious answer, bar too much chatter, should be less than 2 hours.

I can see your point but this bear of very little brain will have to go back to the drawing board. Good puzzle though.
