BT have switched my landline to Digital Voice or summat so the phone is plugged into the Modem. Luckily, the house phones were already DECT ones but BT gave me a free handset anyway.
Spec, lots of the unwanted calls are recorded messages - that do sound the same. I prefer to speak to a real spammer- its so satisfying to tell them to "Go boil your head".

Grandma had a police whistle by the phone and blew it hard at nuisance callers. Not sure it would work with recordings thoughSmile

This is a mobile phone and it has placed itself onto the sim card, I have tried resetting but now think I will have to get a new sim card as I am unable to clear it off

There were suggestions on how to answer the calls, but unfortunately after blocking the various numbers there is now a number on my answer phone, and when I activated the answer phone to hear the message it automatically dials out, I have tried resetting, I have removed the sim card and cleared the voice mail but whenever I replace the sim card it comes back on, which I take it, it has fixed on to the sim card so I now think I will need a new sim card which means a new number and everything that entails

When I needed a smaller, replacement SIM card, I contacted the provider (Orange) and they sent me a smaller one with my existing number on. Worth asking them first.

Don't want to alarm you but it may be worth changing your passwords on your phone and your bank account - in case someone has gained access to secure stuff on your phone.

Thanks Veggie, fortunately I don't do any banking, ordering or store secure info. on my phone, well apart from my date of birthRolleyes as for getting a replacement sim I think it will have to be a new number, as soon as I block a number a new one appears so I think its hooked onto my number
