I'd definitely spend it on the wages of a young strong helper to do some of the jobs we're struggling with these days.

I'd also employ a young 'helper'...

Fruit cage, some sort of permanent brassica defence system and an irrigation system for the polyhouse

That’s just enough to get me a secondhand hartley botanics Highgrow greenhouse. It would be 50-60 years old but, I’d treasure it all the same.

I think I'd employ someone to redesign the flower/ornamental portion of our garden. I'm a numpty when it comes to design, heights, flowering times and colours, plus a scrooge spending money on plants. That someone would also have to do the work whilst I potter in the veg plot. Methinks I need more than £1K.

Some really nice-looking rail fence that I can top with an electric strand to keep the deer out. I love seeing them, but oh boy, they eat anything and everything when they can get in! I fancy a classic post and rail a metre inside the native boundary hedges so we can still cut them, and with an open bottom to let the badgers, foxes, hedgehogs etc still come and go.

Get somebody in to do the weeding in the front garden, and plant out some flowers
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.
