There was a lot of hoo haa round here about the arrival of Claudia but tbh it was wet for most of the day but nothing remarkable. I fear those further north might suffer.

Its been wet, outside and inside today Sad
When the wind blows from the east (like today) it blows rain beneath the flashing on the roof of the extension which leads to a steady drip, drip through into the kitchen, so there have been a few bowls and towels lying around today.
Ted thought it was a new place for his water bowl so he helped by drinking some of the rain water!

Cold and wet. I have three top coats drying and Kato's rub down towel! Cry

More rain here today, sandbags have been delivered to the houses just down the lane from us that were under 3 to 5ft of water during Storm Babet. Our friends like a lot of others have only moved back home this summer.

^^^ Hope the rain passes without causing more flooding for your friends - and for everyone here.
Dry here, at the moment, but not certain that it will stay like this for the rest of the day.

It's stopped raining and the silver birch is just gently swaying now.

Our soakaway that I dug over 40 years doesn't seem to be working as well any more. I just dug a big hole and filled it with broken bricks. I've been digging holes trying to locate it and have managed to find the pipe leading to it so don't think I'm too far away. I'd like to find the end of this pipe so I can check the water flow in it before deciding what to do.

That sounds a mammoth project, Mark, been there done that.  Soakaways, like privies, are things you hope never to have to dig again  Big Grin
