Let us know the lengths you go to to conserve or reclaim water in drought conditions.

Never needed to be too extreme in water conservation as it’s generally plentiful around here. I still have water butts but when it rains they are always overflowing.

I’ve thought about fitting fans in the down pipes to generate electricity It would probably generate more power than PV around here.

Water butts on all GHs and the garage roof. Rarely need to resort to tap water and never use a hosepipe on principle.

1000 litre IBC connected to shed roof. Large water container at each side of greenhouse. Cool

These are used for watering greenhouse stuff and for initial watering of outdoor plantings until they are established. Smile

We have 14 water butts and save run off water from the taps whilst waiting for the hot to come through. In desperate conditions we sometimes use grey water , only as a last resort use the hose - that costs money! We have been known to pump bath water into storage butt.

I don’t think Elijah ever visited the Scots, unlike Noah who predicted 40 days and nights of rain before being laughed at. Tongue

I always wash veg in a bowl of water rather than under running water so it cen be kept and we also keep the cold water run off, except in the shower - and that will change tonight!
