Is any one else having to dodge clouds of aphids? I've never seen this before, they're everywhere! When I went cycling at the weekend they were getting in my eyes, mouth, nose and ears!

Had a few on over wintering foxglove I’d not noticed, growing out of the side of the bed in the tunnel. But that’s it.

I've been squishing green/blackfly from the rose buds for a couple of days. The kale flowers had a few on them and the aphids are taking up positions on the tips of the raspberries and blackcurrants. We're in for an infestation. PS I found baby caterpillars eating the gooseberry leaves too.

Count yourselves lucky, aphids up the nose is not a nice experience! They've been around in their thousands in late afternoon/early evening, swarms of them floating around from ground level to a few metres up in the air, but it seems like they're starting to reduce in number now.

Yep, nastly little things. I'd happily do without them in my diversity
