Just had this from the £5 Pantry:-
"Here’s what’s up for grabs for everyone:? Whole turkeys & trimmings? Frozen ready meals & side dishes? Desserts? Cottage cheese? Veggies (loads from M&S!) plus canned drinks and other treats."
Anyone fancy a turkey for a fiver? I don't..........anyway, I'm off to the Prawn lady to see what she has to give me. She says "Prepare for parsnips!". Better find another dustbin.

Parsnips poached in milk, butter & thyme then mashed are very nice, as is cheese and parsnip roulade if you fancy cooking

Back to the Prawn lady again for her Boxing Day leftovers!
A big quiche, Cheddar & Emmentaal cheeses, pretzels, vol-au-vent cases, milk, chocolate eclairs, apples, oranges, pears, watermelon, passion fruit, red onions, salad potatoes, baking potatoes and the inevitable 2 bags of carrots and parsnips! Also two jars of horseradish sauce and one of seafood sauce.
I may need to find another dustbin!!

Had a walk past the Church earlier and came home with broccoli, carrots, parsnips, grapes, bananas and mushrooms.
There must have been 9 or 10 bread trays full of leftover Food bank veggies. Hopefully they’ll find homes for it all.

A lady on the freebie group runs a Free Food market at a local church - I haven't been to this one . She often asks for eggboxes, carrier bags and the like for the food. Today she posted that she was still looking for eggboxes, so I had a rummage and found 6 boxes that she could have. She replied almost immediately, said someone could pick them up on Monday. She couldn't collect them as she is in India!
I find it so hard to get my head around - having a chat with someone who's in India in real time. The world has become so small.

I still marvel at video chats with my pal in Holland. I'm so parochial I find a 40 minute drive to Southampton a major excursion. So talking to Holland is magic. I can't say I particularly like video calls though, it's always a struggle what to say.

OUT went some egg boxes, 2 jars of Horseradish sauce and 3 packets of instant mash.
I had a call from the Prawn Lady but I was too busy in the garden to stop and collect whatever she has - so I'll pick it up tomorrow instead. Hope its not more parsnips.

Been to the Prawn Lady and to another lady for her cupboard clearout - always exciting.
First - Salmon fishcakes, breaded cod x 2, baby potatoes, carrot batons, (scotch eggs & chicken & stuffing sandwiches - for the dogs), (avocadoes/very ripe and mixed salad leaves - compost bin), wholemeal loaf and bread rolls.
Second collection - Indonesian peanut satay, Hoisin sauce, Sri Lankan curry kit, Thai green curry paste, Smoky Harissa tagine sauce, prepared chestnuts x 2, M&S cranberry & orange panettone and 3 packets of Angel Delight which I'll give to the £5 Pantry.
Well pleased with today's freebies.
