W is for Wireless - a silly name really as it definitely needed a wire to plug in to the electricity. As a child, in the pre-TV era. our only entertainment came from the Wireless ( and a Wind-up record player). The Wireless was a big wooden box of a thing that sat in the corner of the room, on a shelf where it could be plugged in to the only power point in the house! Yes, really, only one!!
There was a part that lit up when the power was on and a knob to select one of the mystical radio stations - Droitwich, Athlone, Luxembourg - that's all I can remember.
In the evening, my Dad would put the radio on and we'd listen to the Billy Cotton Band Show, Winifred Atwell playing the piano, the Michael Miles show with the Yes-No Interlude. Can't remember the rules but the contestant had to answer lots of questions in a minute without saying Yes or No. If they succeeded they'd win a pound (I think).
Saturday mornings were the best when we'd listen to Children's Hour with Uncle Mac. All such innocent fun. I often wonder how children these days would cope without their computers, phones and TV.
Bring back the Wireless.

All I can think of is xylophone. All it reminds me of is small children beating the very untuneful life out of them. Not a fan of them being played properly either if I’m honest.
I believe sir Patrick More used to play, didn’t he?

Yep, and Evelyn Glennie who was deaf, always amazed me how she could play so well but not hear it, I believe she could feel the music.

I think I'm going to put cross (X) in the box for X, nothing comes to mind. Perhaps the eXcitement of opening a new seed order?

All I can think of is yachts. That sounds they make when in a harbour and there’s a breeze blowing through there rigging on the mast . It’s similar to wind chimes when there’s lots of them in the harbour.

The sort when a gang of teenagers or not so teenagers get together and start trying to out shout each other. Don't like it.

Y is for Yawning.
Some people are silent Yawners, others open their mouths wide and are very noisy. Whichever way its done, its contagious. Even the dogs will Yawn if I Yawn in front of them.
I Challenge all the dog owners on here to Yawn for their dogs and see what happens.
Also, are you Yawning whilst reading this? I am!!

Z has to be the sound a zombie makes. The constant groaning as they’re walking around.
Another A-Z finished. It’s been fun and really made me think. Thanks Veggie
