Got up early so that I could shower before the electric was turned off. Then I muddled around, mostly in the kitchen, achieving very little. The power came on about 10.30 so then I had to reset the timers/clocks before I could go to the Prawn lady for some free food. Mooched around in the garden for a bit afterwards before going YS shopping in Morries. That was a waste of time too as the only reduction worth buying was half price Lancashire cheese.
Monday tomorrow, a new week and a new goal - its Roots & Shoots week.

Did a bit of rock splitting. Until I destroyed my big drill bit. Then went to help a friend move some timber.

Yesterday P cut the spindle hedge so I cut out the old fruited 'canes' of the blackberry thug. I've a mind to invest in a thornless variety and slowly give the thug his marching orders. I had to go to work last Monday as well as today, so that's a few pennies in the pocket for blackberry plants.

Planted potatoes in some of the big tubs in the GH. I shoved them in wherever there was a space between the peas and salad leaves.
Added lots of stuff to the hotbin and wormeries.

Today I completed the last of this weeks notated blood pressure ratings because the Doc doesn't believe my BP can be normal without the need for tablets they were trying to force me to take!
Pleasingly the average results for the week are way below the necessity to take medication so he can stuff that in his pipe and smoke it!
Sorted the diesel Eberspacher heater in Motorhome (fitted new pump ) so it can do what it wants weatherwise when I am away and I'll still be toasty!

Made seed envelopes ready for the swap. Cleaned the sweet pea seeds. Tidied the tunnel now I’ve finished using it as my craft room. Potted up my newly acquired plants.

Belatedly sowed some more sweet peas. Cleared one veg patch of sweetcorn roots, courgettes and anything else compostable, weeding as I went along. Weeded a flowerbed of bittercress and pulled up marigolds. Transplanted a couple of volunteer Canterbury bells to a shady pot amongst clematis where one white Canterbury bell plant has flowered all summer and is still flowering now. I'm hoping the transplanted ones will be blue. I fear the white one won't flower again next year but I live in hope.

Binned 2 more tomato plants and used the compost and more to fill 4 x 30ltr tubs.
Sowed these with microgreens - Spinach Red kitten, Giant Red mustard, and a mix of Oriental leaves - Mizuna, Mibuna, Tatsoi, Ishikura onion and Minowase radish.

Binned 2 more tomato plants and replaced them with 2 x 30ltr pots, filled with old compost. Planted lettuce seedlings into one. The other one will be sown with something suitable tomorrow. Its so nice to see these pots greening up with seedlings - all the old seeds sown have germinated.
