F is for Fun Fair. All the noise, music, laughter, screams and squeals, coconut shy, dodgems, roundabouts with prancing horses.
As kids we would go to Barry Island on the train and be given a nominal sum to spend on whatever rides we chose. It was never enough! My brother and I would forage in the litter bins for empty pop bottles and trade them in for a couple of pennies that would be enough to buy us a few more rides on the fun fair. Innocent fun.

Fir tree cutting, you know it's going result in that lovely smell.
Another one is my father's rather unique sound when he cleared his throat, a mix between a rumble and a cough. He used to do it before saying something to mum, usually along the lines of 'rumble'' "Are you fit Duckie" meaning I'm bored here are you ready to go. He's long gone, bless him, but to this day one of us clear our throat for some reason or other and then pipe up saying Hello Bumper.

Fire. The crackle of an open fire/ wood burner / bonfire is lovely.

G for geese. I love hearing them arriving in the autumn. Then you look up to see the big V they make in the sky. The noise of the wings when they’re taking off is also a pretty cool noise. On the rare occasion you’re close enough to hear it.
The bad tempered call and hissing isn’t such a nice sound, but they definitely get their point across.

G is for Giggles.
I love hearing people giggling, especially if its me! Giggling is so infectious. If I can laugh so much that I can't speak, can't explain why I'm laughing, clutch my sides because they ache, wipe tears from my eyes and, best of all, make someone else laugh alongside me, I'm happy.

G
I'm frantically trying to think of something......
Garage door. In the evening around dinner time when I'm just about to serve up, I shout from the front window to P (and the rest of the neighbourhood, knowing my voice) dinner's ready. I wait, and I wait, quietly seething, why can't the silly beggar come when he's called. I've gone to the trouble of getting the meal ready at the agreed time and himself can't be @rsed to get indoors at that time. Eventually, just before I'm planning to stump down to garage to give him an ultimatum, I hear the garage door close and all is forgiven as he turns up. Before you suggest it, I've tried calling earlier than normal, it doesn't work, he seems to have a radar that tells him when I'm about to go ballistic.
