Lifted onions. I'm not too impressed with them this year. The sets bolted and the ones grown from seed were a bit small. I've enough for my needs though so I'm not really complaining. I must to remember to sow seed a bit earlier next year. At least they didn't bolt.

Its Wormery Wednesday so I fed the little wrigglers and drained the liquid - fed some pots with it.
Did more clearing of the bed in the house garden - still more montbretia to dig up.
Shovelled up the contents of 3 boxes of coir from the garage and stashed it in dustbins until I need to rehydrate it.

Spent most of the day filling the trailer with stuff to go to the tip tomorrow.
Very satisfying.

A bit of VP4 weeding and a lot more Strip 3 weeding.
Nothing much really.

Planted a winter flowering pansy from the hanging basket into the little bed. Cut back lots of stuff in the tunnel and removed the rest of DFB and one aubergine. Emptied out lot of old pots and salad bar tubs . Put them all through the sieve . All the good compost I saved was mixed with slow release plant feed. Then used it to pot on a mint and basil I was given yesterday. Also pricked out lots of mammoth dill seedlings.

Picked blackberries, courgettes and tomatoes. Gave away some of the same. Deadheaded dahlias and marigolds and trimmed back some aubretia, a bit late but better late than never. Planted out some Aldi pansies in a patch of spare bed. Put out some slug barrier to hopefully stop whatever eats pansy and polyanthus petals.

Raked over various bits of cleared ground. Still not sure what to do with them.
Cleared some dangling brambles that were growing over the shed roof.
Chopped up some previously pruned hazel branches and found a few nuts!
Pulled up more montbretia.

I'm an expert at growing montbretia and bramble. If you'd like some advice, just ask. Big Grin

We're of to IOW tomorrow for a few days so I'm frantically trying to decide what veg to pick, what will travel and what will last till next Friday. I bet I come back to overripe toms, marrows instead of courgettes and lovely flowers on the broccoli. Let's hope we get a few showers to water it all.

Started to empty GH2. There's not much edible left in there now. Time for a rethink!
Did some weeding in VP6.
Cleared some room in the old chicken shed for all the wool insulation that I've been collecting, including the 2 bin bags I was offered today.

I do like the idea of wool insulation, not sure what I'd do with it but I'd like to try.
