Yesterday I fed the roses. Spayed for aphids with dish soap. They have white fly too. I knew roses were trouble. Bagged up the hay before the rain came. Made a sheep fleece liquid feed. Would of made a bigger batch. Think I've got bumblebees nesting in my bag of fleece. So didn't disturb it any more once I'd realized.

My intention for today is firstly to wrap up a book I have sold on ebay (two days late methinks) Blush then tackle the hand weeding of the border at the side of the house. Cry If I am not back by tea time, send out a search party as I may have been captured byt the pigmy tribe living in the jungle! Rolleyes

Cut back one of the peach trees, its been badly affected by peach leaf curl and only has one peach on it this year. Hoping it will generate some nice clean shoots next year. If not, its Bye Bye. The other peach tree has lots of fruit and very little leaf curl. They both produced well last year.
Also did some weeding along one of the paths - very overgrown, I think I'm the only one who knows where that path is!

Turned the compost and added hay, grass clippings and shredded cardboard.
Moved some more orchids. Did most of the strimming.

Not a lot garden wise, I saw the broardies were collecting blackfly so nipped the tops off, then it rained. Supposed to be chilly tonight so might consider fleecing the tenders if weather allows.

Transplanted all my recently sown seeds into some decent compost hopefully now they'll be happier. Hand pollinated the first courgette. A little more pumpkin training. Fed all the cucurbits with the sheep fleece liquid feed.

The day has started by uncovering all the tenders. I never knew I had so much fleece. The forecasters said mid to low single figures and I recorded 6°which admittedly the tenders could have borne. Thursday night is predicted to be even lower, I expect it'll be rinse and repeat then. I'll win the best dressed garden comp, but not the prettiest. Today's plan is planting, planting, planting but then will sweetcorn and beans like a possible 2 - 4°? Decisions decisions. I found the challenge pumpkin in a pot all forgotten (sorry SC) I'll bung him in somewhere today.
