Watering tunnel and next doors greenhouse while he’s away (wow I thought I’d over crowded things). He really really likes tomatoes and coriander. Strimmed the cottage garden and the tree area. Built a wall in the house. Replaced the homemade plastic cover on the salad bar. With a fleece one that came with the salad bar. Not expecting it to last more than the season.
Potted up a few Dwarf Runner beans - only 4 germinated, the rest rotted.
Sowed beans and courgettes in plastic bags as an experiment.
More weeding including Cow Parsley which is spreading everywhere. Smells nice but that's its only merit.
Pulled up the last of the giant chard in GH1 and fed it to the worms. They're multiplying like crazy at the moment.
The Moneyless Chicken says:- Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
Shuffled seedlings in the GH.
Planted a hanging basket with YS petunias. The basket was YS too - bought a couple of years ago and it has a begonia tuber in the centre which is just coming into leaf again - for at least the 3rd year. Bargain!
Weeded some more strawberry planters - containing last year's runners.

To shops to buy metal mesh to protect the bird table from grey squirrels. Started to cover strawberry bed with net against blackbirds. I love nature but not in my garden
Some of my beans in the aring cupboard have sprouted so potted them on. In the future beans will be treated like sweetcorn and prechitted on kitchen towel.
Gardening is an excuse not to do housework

Went to the plot by myself. Not feeling the greatest motivation today but eventually got some peas tied up, more beans planted out as well as hollyhocks, mallow, various types of pumpkins. Covered the rest of the things I took to the plot with chicken wire until I can get them in the ground.
