A quick flick through - saw lots of recipes for sweet potato spirals. Ever tried those?

No. Would definitely give them a go. You can’t do much wrong with a sweet potato.  Shame they’re such a bugger to grow. Really must try again when the garden is a little more in place.

A box of expensive chocolates were left for the cleaners today. Luckily I was working alone so I didn’t have to share   .
Apart from with Bob, but he eats all the ones I don’t like. So that’s ok   .

A barrow load of manure in exchange for a windowsill tomato. Such a good swap I offered another tomato for the windowsill and a promise of outdoor ones later. That way I'll get more manure later too.

IN came an IKEA flexi laundry tub (like a shallow trug) - came in handy for putting the Morries YS plants in, in the car.
Also some Puzzle/Sudoku books.
OUT went about 50, 3-4" pots for a teacher who wants all the pupils to grow a sunflower.

Called in at the church the other day come hope with, 2 olive loaves, french stick and a bag of wholemeal bread cobs. There must have been 5 bread trays of assorted baked goods.

£5 Pantry this morning - spuds, cauliflower, onion, sweet pepper, sweetcorn, kiwis, lemon, bananas, KFC, Pork chops, Quorn sausage rolls, coconut milk, yogurt, porridge, granola, tinned soup, evaporated milk, baked beans, crisps, cakes, lots of bread and rolls, including an extra box which I've shared with my brother and neighbour. .......and a bunch of white roses. Not sure how long they'll last!
Also IN came 2 carrier bags of books and some plastic storage boxes from one of my favourite people - as she always puts a treat in with her gifts. Today it was a box of Dairy Box chocs.

IN today came some wool insulation, that they use to pack Hello Fresh Food deliveries, apparently. Each piece is about 36" x 18" and I've been given 12 - 15 of them. I may be starting a thread soon - you have been warned.
I also collected a bag of dog toys which gave my 3 mutts a lot of pleasure. Within a few minutes they had destroyed 5 of them! The fabric "bone" lost its stuffing, 3 sponge balls lost their roundness and a ?rubber stick chew also lost its end. That lot went straight in the bin! The favourite toys are a squeaky Christmas Pud and a knobbly hoop thing that also squeaks. There are a few tennis balls and, one of those inflatable Buster collars in case they should ever need one.
OUT went a carrier bag of books to Morries charity book shelf.

Its been a good day for Garden Freebies. I've collected some aluminium, two level, GH staging - about 4' long. Also 3 bamboo supports which I'll probably use for cucumbers. 'Plus some Astilbe and Lamb's Ear plants..............and, the icing on the cake, a bag of seed packets, mostly in date or just out. Lots of Peas, Roma tomatoes, various cucumbers, squash & courgettes and onions. All from Premier Seeds or Chiltern.
OUT went a cutlery tray for a drawer.

I gave away some module planted onion sets to the lady next door. I'll get some rhubarb in exchange to augment my pitiful Paultons Pride.

Today's IN was a part bag of Westland Rose planting & Potting Mix (was 60l).
It wasn't far from home and I did think about walking down for it - but, since I had no idea how much was left in the bag, how heavy it was and it would be uphill to carry it, I took the easy option and went by car! For once, it was the right decision. The bag weighed a "ton", I could hardly lift it up - then I found out why - it was wet, very wet - and there was a hole in the bottom of the bag. As I picked up the bag, clutching it for a grip, like a bagpipe player, the dirty water oozed out, all over my legs - and it was smelly! I staggered back to the car with it and heaved it into the back, onto some coffee sacks that I collected a few weeks ago, Fortunately, I always have a waterproof sheet down in the car for when the dogs are with me so no damage will have been done. Hope its worth the effort - haven't looked at it yet!
