What made me happy yesterday was getting some DIY timber at 1/3rd of B&Q prices from a local hardware shop. I needed skirting boards and wall latts if they were cheap enough.Neither were at B&Q the robbing gits, but at a local hardwar shop I managed to pick up 2 X 8 foot lengths of skirting and 8 X 8 foot lengths of 2" X 3/8" latts for just over 30 squid which would have knocked a hole in 100 squid at B&Q! Cool

It's one of those shops that sells just about everything imaginable  and the likes of nails and screws you can buy by the pound in weight. I love the smell of the place and it has an olde worlde feel to it. You can actually talk to a shopkeeper and be guided if necessary. Smile

I've got a baby one in the kitchen  Smile not going to progress to that size though. I don't know what's the matter with it that it only works outdoors though, if I so wished it could be put up indoors without any harm. Good 'naughty step'.  'Behave yourself or you'll go in the compost bin!'  Big Grin

Have you ever "worn" a dalek compost bin? Put it over your head, so it rests on your shoulders and walk around with it on? Big Grin
I seem to remember that getting in it was easy but not getting out again - I needed help to lift it up as my little arms didn't reach the "hem". Big Grin

'EXTERMINATE' (in a dalek voice)

No I've never worn a dalek, never having owned one. I know, I'm really ashamed at never having a dalek. Thats exactly what I would do with a new dalek. Put it over my head and pretend to exterminate P with a sink plunger. The downside would be P walking away and refusing to help me out of it. Big Grin it conjures up an image, doesn't it?

Scaffolds are here. Some weeks ago one of the two strings of solar panels failed, so we were no longer self sufficient in energy, making P very twitchy. Quote 'all that lovely sunshine going to waste". P with his electronics background established the wiring was at fault but probably not a panel failure. Finding someone to investigate was difficult, then getting safe access to the roof another. Scaffolders here today and solar bod here tomorrow. Unfortunately tomorrow is forecast rain all day.
