I was wondering whether this was a nationwide phenomena? Huh

I sometimes find little painted oval rocks around the countryside whilst walking Kato.I always leave them where they are after having a good look at them. Cool

I have just joined a local facebook page dedicated to them and vaguely remember someone jokingly getting me a rock painting kit one Christmas? I migt try and find it and have a go because I enjoy the quirkiness of them. Rolleyes

I've never found one - but I don't get out much! I know the local school paint rocks to cheer people up - and to take home if they like it.
Go for it, Vinny, its a lovely idea. Big Grin

I think that where you hide things in boxes and search for them using GPS. When you find the cache you take something out and replace it with something else.

Our local primary school started a pebble snake during the first locldown. Inviting the kids to paint a stone and add it to the back of the snake on their daily exercise walk. They carried it on through the summer and it got quite long. I think some other communities started doing similar things, I know one other local area was doing a kind of swap scheme where you could swap one you've done for one you like. It may be something similar.
I also remember seeing some hiding in local parks with numbers and the words "please leave me" or similar on the backs. I think they were being used for some sort of treasure hunt.
