Happy Sunday - can't say Sunny Sunday as its not that today. Dry-ish though. Lost a large branch from an ash tree yesterday, Fortunately it didn't damage anything when it came down, fell neatly alongside between the courgettes and raspberry canes and the wildlife hedge (actually, a line of hazel bushes and hawthorn overgrown with brambles) but wildlife hedge sounds as if its intentional.
I'm in the midst of reorganising GH No. 3 - the sowing and potting on GH that is full of heaps of old flowerpots and modules and is a general dumping ground for dying plants.
Have moved the staging from the back wall to the end wall which gives me a lot more floor space - or it would if it wasn't covered with the aforementioned pots.Wink
I'm getting ready for the 6 Pack Challenge tomorrow. Smile

Evening everybody it’s been on and off rain today with winds that would blow you backwards. I had intended planting more of my lavender hedge but it was to wet so I pottered around in the poly tunnel after picking up all the patio furniture from the garden.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

Lovely weather here today, but incredibly windy. I was weeding one of the massive beds on my allotment and came across a kale plant from last year that hadn't grown much, but looked ready and raring to go when I took all the weeds away! It made me smile Smile

A windy but partly sunny day. Paul continued cutting privet, I pottered, armpitting and general tomato maintenance. Clipping patch edges, then helping to clear privet clippings. P then mowed them into a mulch to put on compost. Very satisfying to see a huge mound of hedge clippings reduced to a few trug fulls.

Hi Bren, one of the heads on my sunflowers is just starting to open, when and why do you remove the leaves please. Some of mine are a bit wrinkled, I have removed the lower ones that became yellow and dead.

Arternoon all.

Just finished potting on my patio pear, plum, cherry and mulberry.  I was very surprised how much compost it took and two of the pots took 40 litres each as well as the original compost. The pots kept getting blown over so hopefully the weight of the bigger pots will stop this. Sleepy
I have one pear on the pear tree and realised I have half a dozen mulberries the size of peas on the mulbery bush. My fan trained apples on the fence are looking really well and I should have a good crop this year. Cool

Did some weeding and general tidying up of pots and surrounds. The Polyanthus that flowered all winter are flowering again, I wonder whether the cold wet weather has fooled them into thinking its Winter again, its certainly fooled me. Rolleyes

I cut the grass and spread grass seed from 2018 all over the lawns. It is probably useless but it will do more good than sitting in the bag.

After walking the dog I may have the energy to do a bit more weeding in the herbaceous borders......we'll see!
