It's the best thing since sliced bread Vinny. Quick dinner, very tasty and you can hide whatever veg you want in there

I didn't follow a recipe last night. I browned off a small pack of low fat beef mince, chucked in onion, peppers, a load of courgette (marrow), a packet of mediterranean spices (originally intended for chicken in a bag, but fajita spice pouches work really well too). Chuck in a cup or two of uncooked rice, with twice the amount of water, bring to the boil, turn down to a simmer and 15 minutes later you have made dirty rice Smile
Sounds a bit like a rissotto? Smile

No, it's not as saucy as risotto, as you don't stir it while it's cooking. It's more like rice with lots of other stuff mixed in. The rice is more defined. Well, either way, I highly recommend it Smile

It's also called one pot mexican rice sometimes. which maybe is more appealling lol
Had to get some from Aldi today after reading your post! Big Grin

They don't do those in my Aldi, even online Sad

Not much cooking after a busy days roofing. Chilli & rice. Chilli already cooked from the freezer. So just got to cook the rice.

Made some kind of a hash with some home-grown courgettes and potatoes (plus bought onions) and scattered some cheddar over the top to melt. It was good!
Formerly self-contained, but expanding my gardening horizons beyond pots!
