It rained here last night as well. It wasn't forecast but filled the the water butts by the house. It's the driest year I can remember ever.

Just seen a house (bungalow) with an edible front garden and it made me happy. They'd trained an apple tree down and along the metal railings and it had a few big red apples on it. There was a pear tree beside the gate and several obelisks of runner beans covered in bright red flowers. I'm sure there would be more edibles in there too but I was only walking past and didn't like to gawp for long.

Finished my fourth night shift of the week, and now have a little bit of time off. Nights have become harder and harder with age and I really struggle with doing four in a row nowadays. Last night was a really busy one too, and I didn't really manage to take much of a break. I had a very unwell patient a couple of hours before I finished and we had to call their family in. I felt so bad that they got stuck with me explaining what had happened to their loved one, as by then it was half an hour before my shift was due to end and I was slurring my words and struggling to construct proper sentences. However, I've come home and slept for about five hours so feel a bit less groggy now!
Sorry, that ended up being lots of things that *don't* make me happy - the fact I've finished them is the key point!
Formerly self-contained, but expanding my gardening horizons beyond pots!

Been for my first dental checkup in over 2 years, last appointment cancelled because of Covid. The good news is - I don't need any treatment and my next appointment is in 12 months time!
These teeth were meant for eating, and that's just what they'll do..........
