Gherkin picking and pickling has started. I haven't counted individuals, but have 2 jars!
Courgettes = 1 Genovese

Nothing so far. I've checked all my courgettes and they're only showing male flowers, bah!
I have some baby Tasty King cucumbers so it looks like I'll be picking those first. I must remember to water them well, unlike last year.

Garrett, that's why I sow Parthenon courgettes first as they're parthenocarpic (don't need fertilisation). https://www.chilternseeds.co.uk/item_135...brid_seeds
My second sowings are for "ordinary" courgettes.

We eat a lot of gherkins - in butties, tartar or green sauces, with salad and just as a nibble with a glass of something.
