just bought reduced cucurma “Longa” in Homebase.
Two rhizomes in a bag for 20p instead of £4.45
Anybody grown this and got any tips?
I actually got three bags and they only charged me forty pence.

I really miss Homebase plant bargains.
I bought a tuber thingy from Sainsburys produce counter but it didn't grow.

Then you're off to a head start, FEW. Lots of websites with growing advice - but most of it seems to be put it in a pot. It could be another indoor plant for your collection.

I tried growing it once but it wasn't worth the bother. I got less corms from the pot than the ones I started with!

Are you thinking of Saffron, Vinny? Mine just faded away to nothing.

No wonder they reduced it to 20 pence then.
Not sure I’d know how to use it even if I manage to harvest some.

Nope, I sent away for Turmeric tubers and grew those on the windowsill Quite a decorative plant from what I remember but not worth the effort for me. I have swallowed turmeric and pepper capsules daily for years now and feel it does some good for my osteoarthritis, but as far as growing my own, no thanks!
I thought saffron was from crocus veggie?

Yes, Saffron is a crocus but you confused me with "corms".
