An easy one now that's just right for November
Can you change COLD into HEAT in 4 moves, changing one letter at a time?

I was chilly so I grabbed a hat.
I got distracted and sat with it in my hand for a while.
I put the hat where it belonged.
And then I was nice and toasty.
Formerly self-contained, but expanding my gardening horizons beyond pots!
