Carrot tops

As I was thinning out the carrots and saving those big enough to eat I pondered: does anyone eat carrot tops?  I cut some of the leaves of the baby carrots, but did I need to?  Answers on a postcard to..............Jen

I think they can be chopped up and used like parsley or in a carrot top pesto.

Your fridge sounds like mine, I grow excellent penicillin.   That's why OH has lasted this long I reckon Smile.

Definitely going to give them a try but this quote from the website gives me pause to think.....

Perhaps I'll try them first and not risk Paul...... it's his heart I'm thinking of of course. Big Grin

Bunged a home grown carrot top in the water with some bought carrots boiling for dinner. Taste was ok but texture wasn't pleasing, so not going down that route on a regular basis but might try eating the thinnings tops when I next have some.

Did you chop them up first?
My thoughts would be to treat them like parsley - chop them up finely and sprinkle on to food.
