I've never bothered with modules, just straight in to the growing position.

Mine are still in the cardboard box that they got delivered to me in. I will definitely need to get beds going for them, so I can get them in the ground

Got the Iberian Wight in a bed a few days ago, 73 cloves in all. The rest of the Solent Wight got dotted around the edges of other raised beds with a few in troughs, maybe 80 or so I guess.

The elephant garlic grown from my own saved cloves is just starting to pop its head up above soil level. I just dibbered holes in bed, dropped in a clove and filled hole with old compost. After that I just covered bed with grass cuttings.

My garlic is still in the string bag waiting for us to finish eating the summer cabbages that are in the patch where the garlic now needs to go!
My habbit of not checking the planting plan and filling any bare soil has bitten me this year, with several rows of turnips and mustard greens sown in that 'lovely empty space' that wasn't doing anything, but was actually scheduled to be home to the garlic! I don't normally plant till December so should be fine
